Western News Analysis

Write for us

Western News Analysis welcomes pitches that help readers examine how Western public stories are framed, sourced and understood. Send proposals through the Contact page; a concise, specific pitch is more useful than a finished article sent without context.

What we welcome

We consider clear, original analysis of headlines, source choices, public claims, framing and the context that helps readers assess an account. Pitches should have a distinct question or argument, a defined reader and an explanation of why the subject suits this publication.

What makes a strong pitch

Tell us the proposed angle, the main points you would examine, the material or sources you expect to use, and any important uncertainty or limitation. Keep the proposal focused and show how it differs from familiar commentary. Avoid unsupported allegations, invented details and claims that would require readers to accept your conclusion on trust.

How to send it

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial proposal option. Include a short outline and relevant writing context; do not include confidential information. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication, and we may ask for clarification before considering it further.
